Refurbished Xbox Series X: Compare Prices

Start with the disc drive rather than the cosmetic grade. A disc-equipped Xbox Series X can play compatible physical games and digital purchases, and its drive supports 4K UHD Blu-ray movies. The Series X Digital Edition has no disc drive, so physical games and movie discs cannot be used. If you already own compatible Xbox discs or buy secondhand games, the drive can matter more than a small difference in console asking price.

The standard disc-equipped model has a 1TB SSD. The all-digital Series X also has 1TB, while the Galaxy Black special edition has 2TB and a disc drive. Usable storage is lower than the advertised capacity because system software reserves space. Choose storage around the games you want installed together rather than assuming every title takes the same amount of room.

Read the model description and inspect photos before selecting an offer. Xbox Series S and Xbox One X are different consoles, despite similar names. Robot White alone is not a reliable model identifier, since listings can mention the color of an included controller. Some titles omit the drive type entirely; an offer grouped under Other is not necessarily unsuitable, but its edition needs confirmation before checkout.

Refurbished should describe a console that has undergone a refurbishment process, not simply a used console being resold. However, the work performed and the testing documented can differ between programs. Look for a clear description of inspection, cleaning, repairs where needed and functional testing. Good, Very Good and Excellent are listing grades, not universal promises about identical cosmetic standards or replacement parts.

A certified refurbished Xbox Series X is only as informative as the certification behind it. Check who performed or authorized the refurbishment. An eBay Certified - Refurbished label should not be read as proof that the unit is Microsoft Certified Refurbished. For a Microsoft refurbished Xbox Series X, verify the specific program description and the warranty attached to that offer rather than inferring manufacturer coverage from the console brand.

Check the package contents individually: console, compatible wireless controller, power cable and suitable HDMI cable. The supplied listings include both controller packages and consoles described with cords only. Do not assume a controller, original packaging, manuals or a particular HDMI cable specification is included. Inspect photos for port damage, cracked panels and unusual modifications, and read the full condition notes even when the headline grade sounds reassuring.

Compare like-for-like packages before sorting solely by price. A console without a controller may cost more overall once missing accessories and shipping are added. Use $689.99 as the median asking price among the selected listings, not as a confirmed resale value or proof of a bargain. Compare against a new console of the same edition too; refurbishment is worthwhile only when the total cost and protections make sense for you.

If you are also checking Amazon Renewed, GameStop, Best Buy, Walmart or Microsoft directly, verify the individual offer's condition and seller. Pre-owned, open-box, renewed and manufacturer-certified stock should not automatically be treated as equivalent. This page targets refurbished consoles and does not promise availability from every retailer. Retailer search results may mix conditions or include marketplace offers with different terms.

Before paying, check the return window, return shipping responsibility, warranty provider and coverage exclusions. Save the listing's condition description and package contents. After delivery, test setup, network connectivity, HDMI output, controller pairing and gameplay promptly. For a disc model, test a compatible game disc as well. Report missing items or faults within the applicable return period rather than waiting for a longer gaming session.
