ROG Xbox Ally X: Compare Prices & Deals

The ASUS ROG Xbox Ally X is a Windows handheld gaming PC, not a portable Xbox Series X console. Look for the AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor, 24GB of memory and RC73XA model identifier when checking a listing. Its standard configuration includes a 1TB SSD and a 7-inch Full HD touchscreen with a 120Hz refresh rate. Titles sometimes shorten the name, so compare the specification fields and device photos rather than relying on the headline alone.

The base ROG Xbox Ally uses a Ryzen Z2 A processor and is a different performance tier. The earlier ROG Ally X uses a Ryzen Z1 Extreme, despite sharing part of the name. A family product page mentioning both Xbox Ally models may display an entry price for the base model rather than the X. Confirm the selected configuration before treating that price as comparable. Listings describing special editions also need separate verification; an unfamiliar edition name is not evidence that the standard model has different hardware.

Current matching offers have listing prices of $710.00–$1,619.00, with a median asking price of $800.00. These figures describe advertised offers, not completed sales, and can mix conditions and storage configurations. For a useful ROG Xbox Ally X price comparison, start with the same SSD capacity and condition, then check shipping charges, applicable taxes and any mandatory fees at checkout.

New, open-box, used and refurbished are separate buying choices. Open-box does not automatically mean unused, while refurbished does not establish who inspected the device or what work was done. Read the seller's condition notes, return terms and any stated warranty coverage. For previously owned units, look for clear photos of the screen, grips, ports and controls, plus information about battery behavior, charging and any repairs.

Check whether the charger is included and suitable for the handheld. Value cases, docks and other extras only if you actually need them. Do not assume a promotional subscription remains redeemable on an opened device. Imported listings deserve an additional check of the power adapter, regional support arrangements and the exact configuration being supplied.

The standard 1TB SSD configuration is the simplest baseline for comparing offers. A listing advertising 2TB may describe a seller-installed upgrade rather than a separate factory edition. Ask whether the capacity refers to the internal SSD or an included memory card, who performed the upgrade, and whether the original drive is included. A larger drive can be useful for a sizeable game library, but it does not make the processor or graphics faster.

Windows 11 allows access to PC game stores and launchers, including Steam and the Xbox app. The Xbox-focused interface makes navigation more controller-friendly, but it does not turn every Xbox console purchase into a playable PC game. Check each important title's PC availability, controller support and account requirements. Subscription access and cloud play have their own requirements.

For demanding games, expect to balance resolution, graphics settings, frame rate and battery life. A 120Hz display does not guarantee that every game runs at 120 frames per second. Before choosing between this handheld and a Steam Deck or another Windows handheld, prioritize your actual games, preferred screen size and tolerance for Windows setup over headline specifications alone.
