SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5X: Compare Prices

The Arctis Nova 5X is the Xbox-compatible member of the Nova 5 wireless family. It also supports compatible PlayStation, PC and Switch connections through its wireless USB dongle, plus Bluetooth connections to supported mobile devices. The closely named Nova 5 and Nova 5P are not substitutes if Xbox wireless compatibility is essential. Check the full model name in the description and photographs rather than relying on a shortened listing headline.

The included 5X dongle has Xbox and USB modes. Use the appropriate mode for the device you plan to connect, and confirm that the required USB connection or adapter cable is included. Xbox consoles do not use ordinary Bluetooth headset audio, so a Bluetooth-capable headset without the correct dongle is not a complete Xbox setup.

Black and white versions offer a cosmetic choice rather than different platform support. Model numbers 61676 and 61677 help distinguish these versions when titles are unclear. Listings without an identifiable model number can still be relevant, but inspect their photographs and specifications before choosing.

Compare offers within the same condition first. A new headset, an open-box return and a used headset can have very different wear, packaging and accessory completeness. Refurbished should remain a separate condition: read what the listing says was inspected or repaired rather than assuming it is equivalent to new. Any warranty or return coverage depends on the specific offer and should be checked before checkout.

For open-box and used units, prioritize clear photographs of the ear cushions, suspension headband, retractable microphone and USB charging port. Look for descriptions of battery performance, working controls and successful wireless pairing. Packaging alone does not establish completeness, and a photographed box is not proof that the matching transmitter is inside.

Confirm that the Xbox-compatible Nova 5X dongle is supplied, not merely a generic USB Bluetooth adapter. This page filters obvious headset-only and no-dongle titles, but omissions can still be buried in descriptions. Add shipping and any applicable checkout charges when comparing totals, and read the return terms for missing accessories or functional problems.

The Nova 5X offers low-latency 2.4GHz wireless for gaming and Bluetooth for compatible phones and other devices. Its Quick-Switch control changes between those connections; it does not mix game audio and Bluetooth audio simultaneously. If hearing a phone call or another Bluetooth source over your game is important, compare that requirement carefully with the Nova 7X family instead of assuming all dual-wireless headsets behave alike.

SteelSeries advertises up to 60 hours of battery life for the Nova 5 family, but actual runtime depends on use, settings and battery condition. A used unit may not retain its original endurance. Ask about charging and runtime when the listing provides no useful battery information.

The companion app provides game audio presets, while the retractable microphone supports voice chat. Microphone noise reduction is different from active noise cancellation for your ears: the Nova 5X does not offer listening ANC. For shared rooms, consider ear-cushion condition and fit as well as microphone performance, since those affect comfort and how much outside sound you notice.
