Astro A50 X: Compare Prices and Conditions

The Logitech G Astro A50 X is a wireless headset and base station system for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC/Mac. Its main distinction is the PLAYSYNC HDMI base station: compatible consoles connect through the dock, allowing you to switch the selected console's audio and video from the headset. It makes most sense when multiple gaming systems share a display and you want fewer manual cable changes.

The Astro A50 Gen 5 is a different product, despite similar looks and naming. It switches audio through USB rather than providing the A50 X's HDMI video switching. Older A50 generations also have different platform connections and base stations. An Astro A50 Xbox listing is therefore not automatically an A50 X listing; check the exact model, dock ports and photographs rather than relying on a search result title.

Black and white A50 X systems offer the same core platform support. Choose the finish you prefer, then compare condition and completeness. Treat a title that contradicts its model number or photographs as unresolved until the seller confirms the actual product.

Start by confirming that the listing includes both the A50 X headset and its matching HDMI base station. A charging dock or headset sold separately is not equivalent to a complete system. Some titles abbreviate the contents or use 'base' ambiguously, so inspect the description and photographs before buying. The A50 X relies on its matching base for its intended gaming connection and switching features.

For used and open-box systems, check the power adapter, power lead and USB cables individually. Missing cables can erase an apparent saving, especially if you also need suitable HDMI cables for your console setup. Confirm that both earcups, the boom microphone, charging contacts and dock ports are intact. Ask whether wireless pairing, microphone operation, charging and the required console inputs have been tested.

Keep refurbished separate from used when comparing offers. Read the stated refurbishment grade, battery information, return terms and any warranty details rather than assuming a condition label guarantees a particular standard. For any previously owned headset, ear-pad hygiene, headband wear and battery runtime matter as much as cosmetic marks. Compare delivered cost, including shipping, before choosing.

The A50 X base supports HDMI 2.1 passthrough features including 4K at 120Hz, VRR and ALLM, but your console, display and cables must also support the mode you want. Plan the cable path before ordering: console HDMI connections run into the base, with its HDMI output connected to the display. Console USB connections and external power are also part of the setup. Do not assume every required HDMI cable is included.

The headset uses 40mm PRO-G graphene drivers and LIGHTSPEED wireless for gaming audio. Simultaneous Bluetooth mixing lets you add audio from a phone while gaming. Its boom microphone flips up to mute, and Logitech software provides EQ and microphone adjustments. Advertised battery life is up to 24 hours under specified conditions; actual runtime depends on use and battery health. If you only need one platform, weigh these switching features against the extra wiring and base station space.
