Xbox One S for Sale: Compare Prices

Start with the disc drive, then choose storage. A standard Xbox One S accepts Xbox One game discs and plays UHD Blu-ray movies. The Xbox One S All-Digital Edition has no optical drive, so physical games and movie discs cannot be used. It relies on digital purchases and compatible subscription games. A standard console with a broken drive is not an All-Digital Edition; treat that as a faulty unit rather than an equivalent alternative.

The Xbox One S 500GB suits a smaller installed library, while the Xbox One S 1TB gives you more room before deleting or moving games. A 2TB version offers more internal storage again. Usable space is lower than the advertised capacity because system software reserves some space. Compatible external USB storage can expand game storage, so internal capacity need not be the only deciding factor.

Check photographs and the full description when titles are vague. Special editions can change the case design without changing the underlying console generation. A themed console does not necessarily include its original game, and a pictured download card may already have been redeemed. Storage, drive type and included items matter more than the edition name alone.

Compare Xbox One S prices within the same storage, drive type and condition before comparing across the whole page. The lowest console-only asking price may be less useful than a more complete package once you add a controller, HDMI cable and power cable. Check delivery charges and applicable taxes at checkout rather than assuming the displayed item price is the final total.

For a used Xbox One S, look for evidence that it boots, connects to the network and runs games. On a disc model, ask whether the drive reads and ejects discs reliably. Inspect photographs for damaged ports, heavy dirt and cracks, and check whether an included controller has stick drift or unreliable buttons. Cosmetic grades describe appearance only unless the listing explicitly explains functional testing.

Keep refurbished, used, open-box and new offers separate in your decision. Refurbished does not automatically mean manufacturer refurbishment, and a feed’s condition label should be confirmed on the retailer’s product page. Read the stated return terms, refurbishment details and any warranty coverage. Do not assign extra value to games on a previous owner’s account; account access is not a dependable part of a console purchase.

The Xbox One S is a compact revision of the original Xbox One with an internal power supply. It supports 4K video streaming and HDR with compatible content and displays; standard disc models also play UHD Blu-ray discs. Those media features do not make it a native-4K gaming console. Game resolution and frame rate vary, and its mechanical hard drive means slower loading than modern SSD-based consoles.

It plays Xbox One games plus selected backward-compatible Xbox 360 and original Xbox titles. Check individual game compatibility before buying, especially for newer releases. Supported cloud gaming can broaden access with the required subscription and connection, but it is not equivalent to local installation. Xbox One S and Xbox Series S are different generations: choose the former for a compatible older library or disc-based entertainment, not on the assumption that it runs every current Xbox game.
